You know you want to see some Gatling gun test fire footage (VIDEOS)

The Pentagon this week released some B-roll footage of maintenance test firing of some 20mm and 30mm guns, and if you listen closely you can almost hear the Freedom.

In the above clip from Hill Air Force Base, Utah, you see the 20mm M61A1 Vulcan in action. The six-barreled gun, standard since 1959 on most combat aircraft in the U.S. arsenal, is capable of 6,000 rounds per minute.

But we know what you really came here for.

The GAU-8/A, made by General Electric, is a 19-foot long 7-barreled rotary cannon that fires huge 30x173mm shells— each about the size of a catsup bottle as fast as 3,900 rounds per minute. Unloaded, the gun weighs more than 600-pounds. Only one aircraft was ever designed around it, the A-10 Warthog.

Let the brrrt begin.
